Would not stay here again.. The hotel upgraded my room for free. The hotel is quite old and hasn’t been renovated ever. The interior is very old with things literally falling apart (while I stayed the facade of the hotel entrance fell off). The walls and floors are all in dirty old spots. The air conditioning barely works. All food is extremely oily and not tasty, which is surprising for Turkey..

Bad. . - Very bad sound isolation in the rooms, you can hear everything what other rooms are watching on their TV, or showoring, or talking at 1 AM! - bad hygiene, stains everywhere, i cannot believe this hotel is 5 stars!.

Obnoxious, and uncaring staff and management and the staff! . I am writing this review while I am ( sadly!) still in this hotel. Let me say this first! Unlike the claim, this hotel is not 5 stars, it is merely pushing 3 stars). It is also NOT for European customers who would like to enjoy the culture. The location: Not central at all although you can find some shops. The decor: the hotel from outside looks dirty and gray, the windows are filthy. The decor in the reception area is luxurious but it ends there. The rooms: They are spacious, the toiletries very limited, no coffee making facilities, yes there is a kettle but no coffee! There is a small fridge with drinks but there is no bottle opener, I was told “ it is not necessary”. The rooms are not clean although the cleaning staff are always busy. There is no “ don't disturb signs”, strange! Some of the lights are permanently on in the room( what a waste!), we could not sleep at night. This morning the electrician came to fix it. The solution? He turned of the power for the room from the mains! The air condition is centralised, as a result it does not work if you reduce the heat thought the unit in the room. We were suffocated with 27.5 Celsius in the room today. There is no iron or iron-board in the rooms, they claim they are catering for business people. How? You need to pay 45tl per item for ironing. The hotel’s wifi is very slow. Also it does not help as all european and uk sites seems to be blocked because the search is “ from Turkey”. The staff: It would have been a better hotel if it was not led by an exceptionally poor management and uncaring receptionists (Kubra) and others. My husband and I booked a silent room through boking.com but when we arrived the receptionist put us in a room facing a massive (and at least 10 hours a day active) construction-site! Since then we have repeatedly asked every staff in the reception for a room change but there was plenty of deception and no response! I told the reception staff that my husband was very ill, he needed to eat a bit of food to take his tablets but after our 17 hours of journey, the hotel did not let us to dine in their (so called) “24 hours open main restaurant” because we were “ not in the group” ( If this is not discrimination I don't know what it is). I wanted to talk to the general manager (Adil Bey) who seems to be permanently “ busy”! I have then ordered a room service but the food was not only inedible, cold but very expensive. For example; we have ordered, a small bowl of green salad ( it was soaked in vinegar, no oil of any kind), a single boiled potato ( it was not even pealed or sliced), some chicken ( about 8 oz!) and a cup of tasteless soup. It cost us 550TL! It was so tasteless that we had to send it back ( no, they did not apologise or refunded us) The breakfast: I agree with all other reviewers, it is less than mediocre, It is supposed to be served between 7:30 -10:30am in the morning yet we could not get coffee even at 9am today! Most of the serving dishes are empty. The staff only serve certain customers. The (only!) fruit (orange) juice is very diluted, if you ask a proper orange juice ( not even freshly squeezed) you are asked to pay for extra! I have talked to the restaurant manager, who was not interested. The coffee was like a water. We told this to the guest relations manager who responded : “ that’s normal!” Sadly my husband and I are stuck in this soulless so called “ 5 star” hotel for a few more days so watch this space for further updates. . .
