Disrespectful treatment of a single mother with a child – no management response. I am writing this review to warn other women, especially those travelling alone or with children.
I made a clear request for a rollaway bed almost one month before my arrival, as I was travelling with my child. This request was confirmed well in advance and was one of the main reasons I chose this hotel.
Upon arrival, I was informed that the hotel decided to give all available rollaway beds to another group instead, despite my early request. I was explicitly told that the hotel preferred to accommodate another group, leaving me and my child without a proper sleeping arrangement.
Had I been informed of this in advance, I would never have booked this hotel, nor would I have paid for additional services.
The situation escalated when I tried to speak to management. I was told to wait, and I stood waiting for a long time, only to later realise that there was no hotel management available on site at all — only a few front desk staff members. No names, contacts, or escalation options were provided.
During this time, I personally observed how the same front desk employee, Mustafa, spoke very politely and attentively to male guests, while addressing me in a rude, dismissive, and humiliating manner.
I am a widow travelling alone with my child, and the difference in treatment was impossible to ignore. I was spoken to as if I was trying to receive something for free rather than being a paying guest. This behaviour occurred in front of my child, which made the experience particularly distressing and degrading.
Most concerning, this employee introduced himself as the General Manager of the hotel, which later turned out to be untrue. He is not a general manager, and misrepresenting himself in this way is completely unacceptable.
I was denied access to real management, misled about management availability, and left waiting without any proper assistance.
In addition, the room was not properly cleaned upon arrival. The carpet was visibly dirty and clearly had not been vacuumed, which is unacceptable for a hotel of this category.
As a result of the complete lack of response on property level, I was forced to contact Marriott International corporate customer care directly. An official corporate case was opened (Case ID: 786-517-307).
At the time of writing this review, many hours have passed, and there has still been no contact, no meeting, and no response from hotel management, despite the open corporate case. This raises serious concerns about whether this property has any active on-site management at all and how guest complaints are handled.
I have been travelling to Dubai regularly for over six years, and I have never experienced this level of disrespect, exclusion, or discriminatory treatment before.
I strongly advise women travelling with children, single mothers, and solo female travellers to think carefully before booking this hotel. No guest should ever be made to feel powerless, humiliated, or treated as less worthy of respect.. .

Beer night. Visted the courtyard restaurant i really liked the vibe the hostess aicha was beyond amazing giving us very nice table overalll i really liked the place i highly recomend. .

Wonderful dining experience. Had a blast dining here at The Netz. The food was great and the staff is superb - especially Khin. The restaurant has a lovely ambiance. Will definitely come back again.. .

Lovely experience at The Netz. We had a wonderful dining experience at the Netz. The food is sumptuous and the staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, especially Khin, who provided excellent service. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!. .

Wonderful little stay in our honeymoon trip. We are in honeymoon and it was an Exellent experience even in a few day we felt the hot and passionate heart of the people that work in this majestic hotel, mr yogesh was truly kind and delightful accepting all our request with a big smile, if we come again in dubai we surely gonna come back in this hotel.. .

2 days stopover in Dubai. I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights last week. Really good location, in the downtown area and very close to the Burj, lake and fountain, and the Dubai Mall. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms not flash but comfortable and perfectly adequate. There is a good size pool and a fitness centre.
There are lots of dining options at the hotel. There is a smart restaurant, a cafe, a courtyard area and an attached sports bar (“Netz”) for food and drinks. The sports bar serves drinks and bar style meals/snacks, they give 30% discount to hotel guests and also have happy hours for most of the day which provides further discounts and makes this a very inexpensive option. I only dined in the courtyard once and the food was not great. In any case, it’s a very short walk to Burj lake where there are myriad dining options.
Breakfast is included and the service was very good. The food was generous and quite good quality - and they will do eggs to order.
Our price was $380 AUD per night. Where that fits in your price point is of course personal but I thought pretty reasonable for a good hotel in a good location in Dubai. Dubai is not cheap.
The clincher for this hotel is that they provide early check-in. Our flight landed at 0730, but by prior arrangement we were able to drive straight to the hotel and check in - so good after a long flight. And at no extra cost!
I thoroughly recommend this hotel.. .

Excellent service and food. The hotel was brilliant and Parvej was delightful and the Kofta was to die for.
The staff were all lovely people , and the restaurant was so clean and tidy, and in case you missed it the Kofta was the best ever. .
