Nice location in Alsancak. Location was perfect, near the train station. Receptionists were helpful, nice value for money, meets basic expectations. air conditioner wasn’t working properly, on the last day they changed our room but we slept in a hot room for 2 days! cleaning was bad also, probably our bed sheets and towels weren’t changed before us, they put only 1 toilet paper for 2 people staying 3 days. We had to go and ask for a toilet paper ourselves!.

Economical, centrally located basic place to enjoy a stay in Izmir.. As compared with other accommodations in Turkiye, a pensayon offers a basic bed, desk, bath, tv and wifi for a very, very reasonable price. Breakfast is not included; however, dozens of local cafes and restaurants offer breakfasts for less than $5. Deniz Pensayon is a few hundred meters from the Alsancak train station, light rail, a short walk to the Izmir boats; all of which can be accessed with an Izban card (less than a dollar for a ride to the airport by train).. The directions to Deniz. Even though Google maps shows the location, it's not clear that Deniz's entrance is a stairway up to what Americans call the second floor. Inside, once you're upstairs, there's a small elevator taking you to your room, so it isn't a problem except for those people with disabilities. But there is only a 2' x 2' small neon entrance to announce it's location, so that's my biggest suggestion..

Great economical Alsancak place to stay. Breakfast is not provided. There are numerous cafes and restaurants within a hundred meters of Deniz. You can eat a pretty decent breakfast for less than $5. Deniz's location enabled me to visit several attractions within short walking distance: a train museum in the Alsancak station, a separate historic train museum (also free) next to the post office, the Ataturk museum (free), and a special exhibit of Miro of the Miro foundation's Portuguese collection (about $5 admission). One of the main shopping districts (Cypress Street) is close by. The big bazaar (hundreds of stores) is about a 10 minute light rail ride and a slightly more expensive Karsikaya (sp?) shopping district is accessible by a short 20 minute (or less) ferry ride. (I loaded an Izban card with plenty of lira, but I think that it was less than $2 for the ride).. Nothing worth noting..
